DESCRIPTION | Extraordinary antique English Georgian solid sterling silver neo-classical cream jug with bright-cut engraving and completely gilt in pure gold. Probably a bit taller than you are expecting and of much thicker silver than similar items. I am thinking of the jugs by Hester Bateman that you could crush in one hand. If you tried to crush this example it would ruin your hands. No engraving or erasure to the frontal oval cartouche and the bright-cutting is still remarkably crisp. |
