CONDITION | odd little repair that shows within the bowl drop and appears to contain old lead and a robust repair to one flute ridge running inwards from the rim. Looks like the estate silversmith/blacksmith decided that this rim split was never to reappear so instead of delicately tacking the split he has slightly overlapped the two sides and in-filled with silver solder. A typical functional and robust repair that is probably almost as old as the piece itself. Otherwise a substantial and robust piece in remarkably good condition. |
