| DESCRIPTION | Wonderful set of four antique English Victorian pitch loaded solid sterling silver Old English & Thread pattern handled table knives with a double crest above a motto and later rustless steel blades by Tessiers of New Bond Street, London. I daily use a set of eight similar handles fitted with exactly these generously proportioned blades by Tessiers and they are an absolute pleasure to use. I do not recommend using a dishwasher on your antique silver, especially pitch loaded knives, but can confirm that my examples have been "accidentally" run through the dishwasher many times with no adverse effects. To use a perfectly balanced large dinner knife such as these is one of life's simplest yet greatest pleasures and I recommend everyone to try it at least once. |
