| DESCRIPTION | Very unusual antique English Edwardian solid sterling silver postage stamp case with a lightly gilded matt interior. It has been suggested that the base section was intended for cigarettes/cigarillos but I am sceptical of this theory and think it more likely for the large high value parcel post stamps of the period. The lid spring is reassuringly strong and a cotton bud was required for the photography. |
