INDEX | ALL SILVER |
DESCRIPTION | Unusual solid sterling silver double (1 + ½) sovereign case being slim and with the catch on the short side. No engraving or erasure. The sprung tables of these cases are usually flat but these are slightly dished, more so on the half's table and I am not sure if this is by design or from use. Inside the lid are two bands of silver, the upper band being soldered down. The lower band is sprung and left open. I am thinking that this could be a stamp holder. |
