Silfren and The Bedford Gallery
|
DESCRIPTION |
A massive pair of Victorian silver bulbous, hexagonal cauldron table salts with embossed and engraved rococo decoration and applied cast silver rococo feet. The interiors have been gilded and so are safe for use. These are truly huge and would dominate all but the largest of dining tables, real showstoppers and sure to be a talking point at your dinner parties. These items are so large that I needed three images to capture the hallmarks. The penultimate image shows a normal sized Hester Bateman cauldron or bun salt between these two rather butch beauties for comparison. The Hester Bateman salt is NOT included in this lot and is listed on its own. | ||
