Superb and scarce Georgian silver cream jug with a cast silver handle and base and excessively thick silver throughout. The handle is cast as a wonderful serpent and the rococo cartouche has a crest engraving. As the crest
appears to be later than the jug I suspect an erasure although the silver shows no thinning. |
