Silfren and The Bedford Gallery
DESCRIPTION |
A most unusual little silver sauce boat with an extended pouring lip. The delicate handle is clearly not a stock item and was hand-made for the boat. The silversmith has added a little extra silver to the inside of the handle towards the base, most likely to add strength. The long, narrow pouring lip would give great accuracy but I do not know exactly what it was designed to be used for, although it was probably something piquant due to the diminutive size of the boat. | ||
