DESCRIPTION

Plain and elegant Georgian silver milk jug with a simple initial engraving to the front and a good, clear assayer's scrape to the base.

SILVERSMITH

PB is all that is visible. However, it is raised above the other hallmarks which suggests that there was more to this mark originally and the lower portion is rubbed. The only PB working at this time in London was Peter Bateman (second son of Hester) and he was working with his nephew William I Bateman. So probably Peter and William I Bateman.
