Silfren and The Bedford Gallery
DESCRIPTION |
Georgian large shaped rectangular mustard pot with plain loop handle and possibly original blue glass liner. There are no crest engravings which is unusual, but I can see no signs of an erasure. I have included free of charge a silver spoon of the period more usually used for salt but is of generous proportions so will serve well with this large mustard pot. |

OVERALL CONDITION |
The blue glass liner has some rim chips but the larger one is on the outside and so is covered by the pot. The mustard pot has been well maintained and is now ready for another two hundred years of service. My silversmith has just removed a couple of soft body bumps and replaced the hinge pin. There is evidence of well executed earlier work to the bottom handle joint. |
