DESCRIPTION

An Edwardian part canteen of what appears to be double struck King George pattern, consisting of five table spoons, nine table forks, six dessert spoons and seven dessert forks, 27 pieces in all. There are no engraved monograms or erasures.

ARTIST or SILVERSMITH

Gorham Manufacturing Co. of Providence, Rhode Island, USA.

DATE or HALLMARK

Imported through Birmingham in 1904-05 for sale in their new London shop. By 1910 Gorham had opened their own factory at Birmingham. Most of the shells on the backs have an extra letter marked. This may be a US Gorham date mark.

United States with additional Birmingham import marks.
