DESCRIPTION |
Four very rare Georgian silver Old English with Shoulders pattern teaspoons.
This variant of Old English was a short lived fashion that we usually consider dating from 1760-70.
Here we have two very early examples and two late examples.
No date letters but the Paul Callard mark is unique during this period in using the double mullet above the (now rubbed) initials.
Hints of script 'PC' can be seen. This mark was entered in 1752 and
noted on table spoons in 1755. |

CONDITION |
actually very good for teaspoons of this period, silver thick throughout, probable frontal erasures, some bowl tip wear but this was anticipated in the design and there is more than enough metal left for a silversmith to
successfully refresh the bowl tips, couple of micro bumps. I have given these spoons a simple, light clean but my silversmith would be willing to refresh the bowls should you wish. |
