DESCRIPTION | Superb set of six Georgian silver Bead Edge Pointed Old English & Thread pattern table knives with pitch loaded silver handles and 20th century mirror polished stainless steel blades. Crest engraving to one side below an earlier and partially erased crest engraving. I suspect the old silversmith wanted to erase the early crest without overly thinning the metal. I have had the pitch loading replaced so these knives should be good for another two hundred years although they should not be immersed in hot water or cleaned in a dishwasher. |
