DESCRIPTION Set of six Georgian silver Bead Edged Old English pattern teaspoons with initial engraved terminals, bottom struck hallmarks and strong, single drops to the bowl backs.
SILVERSMITH All the same very rubbed mark, the best of which strongly indicates Thomas Chawner and is shown upside down and to the left of the lion passant in the last image below.
DATE or HALLMARK Legal requirement of the time was lion passant and maker only so no date letter but style, maker and position of marks is 1775 +/- only very few years.

OVERALL CONDITION good weight and thickness with minimal wear, most with bowl bumps, slight stem bends
FAULTS bottom struck hallmarks could cause a weak spot and marks were consequently moved up the stem in 1784. Two have an old stem repair at the point of hallmarking and are shown far right below.
