Absolutely stunning and heavy Georgian silver Old English pattern table spoon, double monogram engraved. From the style and position of the engravings it is likely that the upper J/T B is contemporary with the manufacture of the spoon and the lower F B just after, perhaps one generation later. The first owner was probably the only person to use the spoon before it became a family treasure. From the minimal signs of use that I can find I conclude that they were left-handed. |
