DESCRIPTION |
Generously proportioned set of ten Georgian silver leaf capped pistol grip hafted steel scimitar bladed table knives. Six are clearly hallmarked and doubly crested below a coronet (first six from the left), four have worn marks although the one date letter extant is also for 1817, and are similarly crested but to the side, crests now very faint. Astonishingly, one of the six clearly hallmarked examples (first left) also appears to have the original steel blade, the others have Victorian steel scimitar replacements by Thornhill of London. The four all have Victorian steel scimitar blades by Garrard of London. |

CONDITION |
There is some pitting and it is highlighted in black in the images of the blades but none is deep and most would fade with use. The leaf capped Georgian silver hafts are exceptionally good with only slight surface marks commensurate with very light use over their one hundred and ninety years. |
