DESCRIPTION

A very good George III solid silver tankard with an 'S' scroll handle incorporating a whistle in its base. The idea was that once your tankard was empty you would invert it and whistle for a refill. I have been unable to get the whistle to work so it may be blocked or lost its pea.

excellent although we have removed a small initial engraving from the base. This has been done very sympathetically and now appears as an assayer's scrape.
